We are dedicated to creating a dialogue between different communities and safe spaces for all ideas to be heard. We recognize the marginalized.
Dre Rivas- Creator/Projections/Set Designer
Dre Rivas is a Toronto based performer, creator, designer and playwright. Born in Lima, Peru and moved to Canada at the age of 5, Dre is fascinated by the idea of blending cultures and bringing that into her creative process. She looks forward to delving deeper into that fascination in Mind Yo’ Business Productions’ upcoming show. Dre is a lover of music and dance from all over the globe and hopes to one day travel the world. In the meantime, you can find her with her head in the clouds, dreaming up her next big adventure. Whether that be a new project or a fun filled escape, you’ll just have to wait and see 😉
Mikalah Reid Beckette- Creator
Born in Toronto Canada Mikalah is a 4th year devised theatre student and self-proclaimed meme queen. She is looking forward to expressing unity, struggle, pain and power in Mind Yo Business Productions upcoming show through spoken word, movement and dance.
Ashley Murphy- Creator
Ashley Murphy is a Toronto based artist and Motivational speaker that has traveled the world sharing her story. She is a 4th year Devised Theatre Major and the Mind Yo Business’ Productions main stage manager. At her time at York has performed in plays such as The Vagina Monologues and The Penelopiad, to name a few. She is very excited to be working on a show with some of her closest gal pals, tackling issues surrounding female empowerment. Girl power for the win!
Rachael Henfrey- Creator/Sound Designer
Rachael is a Filipino-Canadian theatre artist from Toronto, Ontario. She is currently in her fourth year at York specializing in Devised Theatre and where she has also specialized in Playwriting. Some of her current theatre credits at York include Assistant Director for Spitting Image (playGround 2018) and assistant directing Iphigenia 2.0 by Charles Mee (directed by Mandy Roveda and Philip Geller). She is one out of four members of the theatre company Mind Yo’ Business Productions and is excited to showcase her company’s show “Five” in this year's Devised Theatre Festival. Rachael would like to thank her professors Ian and David and her fellow company members for their support throughout this whole creative process. Enjoy the show!
