SomatiKs emphasizes the use of physical movement to provide an intimate experience for audience members. The company believes in inclusiveness, discipline, specificity and the exploration of each member’s full potential.

Robyn is a fourth year Theatre student specializing in set and costume design. Previous credits include: Costume designer for Three Sisters (Theatre@York), costume designer, deviser, and performance artist for Woyzeck In Wonderland (Torrential Theatre), Production Assistant for feature length film Mangoshake (Crescendo Angst Cinema Studio), and Assistant Stage Manager on Montreal Fringe Festival’s Ocean Opera (Ah!lala Theatre). She is currently costume designing for Little Women (Vanier College Productions). Look for her performance in Silence S’il Vous Plait at the Toronto Fringe Festival this summer.

Danielle is a Fourth year Production and Design student. She got her start in lighting as Assistant Electrician in her second year,before going on to study Lighting Design. Danielle has had the opportunity to design for Silence S’il Vous Plait – part of the 2016 playGround festival, YUFFA Fringe’s The Concept and Head à Tête for the 2016 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and Theatre@York’s A Dream Play. She will be working on the remount of Silence S’il Vous Plait for the 2017 Toronto Fringe.

Ashley is currently in her second year of Devised Theatre at York University, with interests in physical theatre and performance. She began her stage managing career in 2014, ASM-ing VCP’s RENT. Since then, she’s ASM’d Darling of the Day (Talk is Free Theatre), and stage managed This is War (York’s MFA Showcase), The Teeny Tiny Music Show (Hamilton Fringe), and the Improv and Playmaking Showcase (York University). She also acted in Theatre By The Bay’s Shakey Shake and Friends, and wrote/directed Sonder, produced for the 2014 Sears Drama Festival. To my friends and family: you have all my love.

Charles Marco Diokno Manzo is a 4th year Devised Theatre Student. His past credits include, Shakespearience 2013, Rover playGround 2014, Vanier College Production’s Legally Blonde: The Musical 2014, Little Black Afro Production’s Carbon Copies 2014 Hamilton Fringe, Yasaman Nouri’s Maman Va Asal playGround 2015, I Fear(ed) playGround 2016, Little Black Afro Production’s Carbon 2016, WOLF playGround 2017. He will be directing a play as a part of InspiraTO Festival debuting in June, 2017 downtown Toronto. Charles is forever grateful to the Theatre Gargantua Company for their workshop, Gwenyth and Ian for a memorable NYC trip and support.

Kaitlyn is a 4th year Devised Theatre Student who has strong interest in physical theatre.  She has a strong background in choreography, figure skating and dance, ranging from jazz, hip-hop, acro, contemporary, tap and ballet.  She is grateful to share her knowledge and skills towards this performance.  She hopes this piece will leave the audience on the edge of their seats and have a visceral experience.  On behalf of Kaitlyn and the rest of the SomatiKs company, we would like to thank all of our production team, our teachers Gwenyth and Ian for all the continuous support.

Matthew is thrilled to be collaborating with SomatiKs.  NYC choreography opportunities include: SOUL KITCHEN (Choreographer, Joe’s Pub), HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL (Associate, Paper Mill Playhouse), NYE WITH PHISH (Associate, Madison Square Garden) and FIENDS (Associate, Busch Gardens).  He has taught Tap and Musical Theater workshops at prestigious NYC institutions: The Juilliard School, Circle in the Square Theater School, and Broadway Connections.  As a performer, Matthew was the Swing and Dance Captain in the 2012 TONY nominated Broadway revival of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR.  Matthew is a certified yoga instructor, National Voice Intensive (Associate), and is a M.F.A. candidate at York University.

Dana is a 4th year Devised Theatre Student at York University. Her recent works include yes problemo’s Best Made Plans at the 2016 Toronto Fringe Festival (assistant stage manager), VDay@York’s The Vagina Monologues (producer), and Theatre@York’s A Dream Play (assistant director). She will be directing an upcoming piece for the 2017 InspiraTO Festival in June. She is so excited to finally be sharing this piece that has been in the works for so long, and would like to thank the amazing team of SomatiKs for all of their hard work and dedication to the show!
