Meet the Company:
Sukaina Ibraheem is a 4th year Devised Theatre and concurrent Education student at York University. In 2016, she assistant directed Sad Ibsen Theatre’s debut production Exiles by James Joyce, and was an advisory board member for the Paprika Festival. She performed the lead role, Ghomeshi, in her most recent devised theatre work Mens Rea (2017), and was Producing Assistant for Theatre Gargantua’s 2017 production Reflector. Currently, she is developing Metanoia with her collective company Palimpsest Theatre for York University’s 2018 Devised Theatre Festival. She would like to thank her family, friends, and mentors for all their incredible support.
Michelle Paunov is a Macedonian/Serbian multidisciplinary artist born and raised in Toronto, with a special interest in cultural, feminist and, queer works. Primarily a deviser/performer, playwright, and poet. Her recent credits include: sleepless nights (Toronto Fringe 2017 and Paprika Festival 2017), YOU CAN’T LEAVE THE WAY YOU CAME IN (Honest Ed’s ArtMaze 2017) along with various York University Devised Shows. Playwriting credits include Telling Tales Out of School (2017 and 2018) as well as The Ashley Plays. She was the dramaturge for Jennaration Y (NonCents Theatre, Edinburgh Fringe 2017) and she is currently producer for V-Day at York and The Vagina Monologues.
Madison Robinson is a 4th year Devised Theatre Student who is the Production Manager of Metanoia by Palimpsest Theatre. Madison is absolutely thrilled to be a part of the Devised Theatre Festival and is so proud of all her class mates and her group members for their hard work and dedication this year. She is working her way to one day own her own travelling theatre company, as well as being an awesome dog mom. Madison wants to thank her family and friends for their encouragement and support in everything she does. “Keep planting. Be Patient. Nothing grows overnight.”
Troy Sarju is in his final year at York University specializing in Devised Theatre and Playwriting. He is so happy to be finishing his undergraduate degree working on Metanoia with Palimpsest Theatre. Troy is a deviser, playwright, performer, poet and rapper, and most recently he has found a new love for sound design. Previous credits include Teen 2 (Bobolink) in Concord Floral, the Paprika Festival’s Creators Unit for multiple years, and Tarragon Theatre’s Young Playwriting Unit.
