Meet the Company:
Miranda Campos is a 4th year student working towards an Honours Bachelor in Theatre with a specialty in Devised Theatre. She plans to graduate in the fall and pursue a Bachelor of Education degree. She is also involved in York University’s Gospel Choir and Classical Singing courses. Miranda is very excited to be presenting this piece with her fellow company and crew members. She would like to dedicate this performance to her family, whose overwhelming support and love inspires her every day.
Geneviève Canavan is a creator, director, and playwright from Walpole, Massachusetts. Some recent credits include assistant directing York’s Unmounted showing of Scorched (2016), the MFA Hybrid Showing of This is War (2016), and dramaturging the playGround Festival piece You’ve Got to be Kidney Me! (2017). She is continually exploring immersive theatre and how being unaware of the entire story affects the audience’s experience. She believes theatre should not only entertain and educate, but have people constantly see that the world we live in is much more grey than it is black and white.
A multi-disciplinary artist currently studying in the Theatre and Computational Arts departments at York University, Raechel E. Kula has created a number of digitally enhanced set, costume and video designs for productions at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe including Victims of Influence (2014), Nudity Free Beer Good For Kids (2015, Audience Choice Winner – One More Night Festival in Toronto), The Concept (2016), Head a Tete (2016), The Stage Manager’s Guide to Dating Assholes (2016 Toronto Fringe, 2017 EdFringe) and Jennaration Y (2017). She frequently appears as a dancer with Spirit of Aloha Ohana Hula and has no regrets about leaving IT for theatre!
Colin P. is a 4th year Devised Theatre Student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Specialized Honours in Theatre. He attended Unionville High School for Drama and continued to pursue theatre at York. He has performed in musicals such as 13 (Unionville High School, 2012) as Malcolm, Once Upon a Mattress (Unionville Theatre Company, 2013) as Sir Harry, and The Drowsy Chaperone (Unionville High School, 2014) as Robert. Colin also is a guitarist and trained singer. He hopes to be involved in the greater theatrical community in Toronto after graduating. He is excited to develop and perform Peeled with his classmates at the Devised Theatre Festival.
Simran Sohal is a fourth year devised theatre student at York University. She is pursuing a Bachelors of Arts Specialized Honors in Theatre. An ardent performer who is passionate about acting and dancing, she landed herself a role in an Indo Canadian Bollywood movie Dr. Cabbie in 2014. She is professionally trained in Bollywood, Contemporary, Ballroom and Hip- Hop dance. She has taken part in several stage shows and also done a few modelling projects. Her dream is to pursue acting in film. She is thrilled to perform in Peeled at this year’s Devised Theatre Festival.
